Sisters Are Forever

Have you ever had one of those days when it seems like nothing goes right? I mean nothing. All you want to do is curl up in bed and sleep...sleep for as long as it takes for whatever it is that is going wrong to magically disappear. Today was one of those days for me.

A mix of house-hunting woes, a whiny two-year-old, frustration with myself and my husband, and overwhelming hormonal depression (from being almost 5 months pregnant) has all but sent me to my bed in tears. The only problem with that is my husband is soundly sleeping in it because he works nights, so not even my pillows could console me. Not that my whiny two-year-old would have let me sleep anyway. So, I decided to blog instead, hoping it will change my attitude about life right now:

My sister is one amazing person and has completely transformed herself over the last couple of years. You wouldn't recognize her now if you saw her. Literally. Rachelle decided to make some major changes in her life and has lost over 160 pounds through diet and exercise. I took some photos of her over Thanksgiving so she could have something to commemorate her achievement up to this point and, like a very bad sister, I have not given them to her yet.

Rachelle emailed me the other night asking for those photos because she was having a day like I had today. Frustrated with her weight loss goals, she needed a reminder of where she has been and how far she has come. I get it. I really do. We all need a reminder here and there of the hard work we put in every day. Sometimes thankless. Sometimes completely unnoticed.

I thought I would post a couple of Rachelle's pictures and let her know that I think she is fabulous. She is strong, goal driven, and kind. I love her and I am glad that she is my sister now, and always. You're doing great, Rachelle. Even though you have forgotten how great you really are.
